  • Description

The C17500 beryllium copper plate is a high-performance precipitation-hardening copper alloy sheet. It is mainly composed of copper (Cu) as the matrix, with 0.4%–0.7% beryllium (Be) and 2.4%–2.7% cobalt (Co) added, and the content of impurity elements such as iron, silicon, and aluminum is strictly controlled (usually each ≤ 0.10%–0.20%). It forms a high-conductivity and high-strength alloy system with the cobalt-beryllium strengthening phase as the core.

In terms of shape, the C17500 beryllium copper plate is usually supplied in a rectangular sheet form, with a regular geometric cross-section, which is convenient for subsequent machining, stamping or assembly. Common specifications include thickness ranging from 0.5 to 80 mm, width ranging from 600 to 1250 mm, and length ranging from 1000 to 6000 mm. Custom sizes or specific shapes can also be tailored according to customer requirements. The surface can be provided in various states such as acid washing, polishing, or grinding, meeting the requirements for flatness and surface quality in high-precision applications such as mold inserts, electronic connectors, and resistance welding electrodes.

Note: Some standards (such as ASTM B441/B534) allow for a small amount of nickel (Ni), but cobalt, as the main strengthening element, clearly distinguishes it from the high beryllium alloy C17200 (with beryllium content of approximately 2%).

Note: The soft (solution annealed) material has lower strength but good plasticity (with elongation up to 20%+), making it suitable for forming; the final performance is achieved through cold processing + aging treatment (450–500°C × 2–4 hours).

C17500 beryllium copper plates are usually supplied in rectangular sheet form. The common available and customizable sizes are as follows:

Thickness:

  • Sheet: 0.5 mm – 6 mm

  • Medium plate: 6 mm – 20 mm

  • Thick plate: 20 mm – 80 mm (some manufacturers can reach 100 mm)

Width: 600 mm – 1250 mm (standard width is usually 1000 mm or 1200 mm)

Length: 1000 mm – 6000 mm (i.e. 1-6 meters, supports fixed-length cutting)

Tolerance: According to GB/T, ASTM or customer requirements, the thickness tolerance is generally ±0.05 mm to ±0.5 mm
